Live captions
Words appear as they are spoken, then settle into a final translated line. Speech recognition runs on your GPU where there is one, and falls back to the CPU.
Chat translation
A quiet line under each foreign message. Colours, badges and emotes stay exactly as they are.
Reply in their language
Type in yours, press Translate, read it, send it yourself. Nothing is ever sent on your behalf.
Raw audio stays on your device. Enabled cloud translation sends caption or chat text and context to your chosen provider. With Gemini, Groq or OpenRouter selected, clicking UX Translate sends that draft to your model; typing alone does not. You review the result and decide whether to post. Cloud chat and recaps have separate opt-ins; cloud recaps and questions send selected history and recent conversation. Provider quotas and charges may apply.
Requires desktop Chrome 138 or newer. Start captions from the extension popup. The first speech model download is approximately 80 MB–1.6 GB. Local translation and AI availability depend on your browser, device and language; local recaps require Chrome’s built-in AI.
